A first year student at Georgia Regents University from Evans Georgia died on Tuesday, October 1 while driving on Riverwatch Parkway in Columbia County.
“I am deeply saddened by the death of this student, and I offer our deepest condolences to his family and friends. There are no words that fully express the grief that follows the death of one so young. I urge students to reach out for support during this difficult time,” said Mark Allen Poisel, Vice President for Student Affairs.

The main Counseling Center Office is located on the Summerville Campus in the Central Utilities Plant Building Annex on the 2nd floor. Main Office hours are Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm, with evening hours available as needed. For Health Science Campus students, an Annex Office is located in the Student Health Center (note office hours vary from the Main Office). Walk-in hours are available in the Main Office on Tuesdays and Wednesdays between 11am and 12:30pm when classes are in session.
