Dr. William K. Dolen, Interim Chief of the Section of Allergy-Immunology and Rheumatology at the Medical College of Georgia at Georgia Regents University, has been elected Chairman of the Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education’s Residency Review Committee for Allergy and Immunology.
Beginning July 1, Dolen will serve a three-year term leading the nine-member committee which establishes standards for training programs in the specialty of allergy and immunology. He has served as a committee member since 2011. The Residency Review Committee collaborates with the American Board of Allergy and Immunology and the American Medical Association to establish standards.
Dolen also is a member of the Board of Directors of the American Board of Allergy and Immunology. He has served as President of the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, the Southeastern Allergy, Asthma and Immunology Society and the Allergy, Asthma & Immunology Society of Georgia. He is a member of the GRU/MCG Graduate Medical Education Committee and Director of the GRU/MCG Allergy-Immunology Fellowship Program.
Dolen also is a member of the Education Council of the World Allergy Organization, Vice-Chairman of the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology Abstract Review Committee and a member of the college’s Ethics Committee.
The 1977 medical degree graduate of the University of Tennessee Center for the Health Sciences has been an MCG faculty member for 21 years.
