AUGUSTA, Ga. – Tad A. Gomez, has been promoted to Vice President of Professional Services at Georgia Regents Medical Center. In addition to his responsibilities as the former Administrative Director of Pharmacy, Rehabilitation and Respiratory Care Services, he will have operational oversight of Diagnostic Imaging, Laboratory and Pathology Services, the Cardiovascular Service Line and Dialysis.
Gomez, who joined the health system in 2003 as Director of Pharmacy also holds a Clinical Associate Professor appointment at The University of Georgia College of Pharmacy. He is the former Director of Pharmacy Residency Programs for the health system.
Gomez is the former Director of Inpatient Pharmacy Services for Harris County Hospital District in Houston, Texas. He holds a B.S. degree from the University of Kansas School of Pharmacy and an M.S. degree in Hospital Pharmacy Administration from The Ohio State University. He completed a residency in Pharmacy Practice Management at Ohio State University Medical Center.
Gomez was recently selected to participate in the inaugural class of Georgia Regents University’s Executive Leadership Excellence Program and was named a Fellow of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists.
He is a member of ASHP, the Georgia Society of Health-System Pharmacists, Georgia Pharmacy Association, American College of Healthcare Executives, and Georgia Association of Healthcare Executives and serves on the Board of Directors of Augusta’s Health Center Credit Union.
