Rawson appointed to radiology journal editorial board

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Dr. James V. Rawson, Chair of the Department of Radiology at the Medical College of Georgia at Georgia Regents University, has been appointed to a three-year term on the editorial board of the Journal of the American College of Radiology.

The college’s official journal publishes articles on clinical practice, practice management, health services research and policy and education in focus areas of diagnostic radiology, interventional radiology, radiation oncology and medical physics.

Rawson has been a reviewer for the journal since 2012, when he and Dr. Ruth Carlos, Professor of Abdominal Radiology at the University of Michigan, co-edited a special issue dedicated to the impact of health care reform on radiology.

Rawson also is Associate Editor of the journal Academic Radiology and an editorial board member of Cureus.

At the American College of Radiology, Rawson chairs the Committees on Economic Issues in Academic Radiology; Government and Regulatory Issues in Academic Radiology; and Hospital Outpatient Prospective Payment System and Ambulatory Patient Classification.  He is a board member of the Harvey L. Neiman Health Policy Institute and Radiology Alliance Health Services Research and a councilor for the board of the Society of Chairmen of Academic Radiology Departments.
