Georgia Regents University will hold Buffalo Soldiers Day on Monday, Feb. 18, in honor of Black History Month.

The Buffalo Soldiers of Greater Atlanta will provide horse demonstrations following a brief presentation by Michael Searles, also known as Cowboy Mike, on the history of the Buffalo Soldiers. Established by Congress in 1866, Buffalo Soldiers was the nickname given to the first all-black U.S. Army regiment.

The presentation begins at 11 a.m. in the Coffeehouse on the second floor of the Jaguar Student Activities Center on the Summerville Campus and horse demonstrations will begin at noon on the field adjacent to the JSAC.
