Seven-week Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals Campaign runs through May 24
AUGUSTA, Ga. – Through Saturday, May 24, area Rite Aid stores will sell $1 paper Miracle Balloons that directly support the Children’s Hospital of Georgia, the local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital. Customers who make a donation will receive $9 in coupon offers, good for a variety of popular products sold at Rite Aid.
“Rite Aid has stores in and around Augusta, including Hephzibah and Millen, Ga., North Augusta, Bamberg and Allendale, S.C. All funds raised from these stores during the campaign will benefit the more than 90,000 patients treated each year at Children’s Hospital of Georgia,” said CHOG Children’s Miracle Network Development Coordinator Catherine Stewart. “Since 2010, local Rite Aids have raised almost $25,000 to benefit children in our community, and we are pleased that they will continue to support CMN Hospitals this year.”
Rite Aid is celebrating 20 years of miracles and $64 million in funds raised since becoming a partner with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. The money raised by Rite Aid funds critical care, ground-breaking research, and life-saving equipment at 95 CMN Hospitals, including CHOG.
Many Rite Aid associates conduct special fundraisers throughout the year including golf tournaments, motorcycle rides, beauty pageants, and bake sales. Rite Aid’s management team helps raise funds by dedicating a day each summer to washing cars and competing in various activities at the company’s headquarters in Camp Hill, Pa.
“Last year, our company raised a record-breaking $6.8 million for the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals in the communities we serve,” said Ken Martindale, Rite Aid President, Chief Operating Officer and President of The Rite Aid Foundation. “Everyone at Rite Aid is extremely proud of our 20-year partnership with CMN, and we look forward to seeing our associates do all that they can to ensure our 20th campaign is one to remember.”
