Michael Heekin, the first Chief Operating Officer and founding board member for WebMD, will speak at Georgia Regents University as part of GRU’s Innovation in Management Speaker Series.

6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13, in University Hall, room 170, on the Summerville Campus.
In this presentation titled “WebMD — Value Creation and Entrepreneurship in the Health Information Technology Industry,” Heekin will review his work in entrepreneurship, value creation, and the health information technology industry. He will also provide an overview of the maturation and evolution of WebMD, focusing on the “pivot” from its original business model.
