AUGUSTA, Ga. – Georgia Regents Health System Pharmacist Patricia Knowles, has been named Pharmacist of the Year by the Georgia Society of Health-System Pharmacists, a professional society of pharmacists practicing in organized health care settings.
Knowles, who joined GRHealth in 1984, has held progressively responsible positions, including operating room pharmacy supervisor, pediatric pharmacist and outpatient services pharmacist. She is currently a clinical pharmacist in the Central Pharmacy at Georgia Regents Medical Center, a geriatric consultant pharmacist for the Georgia War Veterans Nursing Home, and a Preceptor for the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy.
She earned a B.S. degree in Pharmacy from UGA’s College of Pharmacy in Athens.
Knowles also has been recognized by the GHSP in 2003 with the Outstanding District Director Award, in 2005 with the Community Service Award, and in 2007 with the Pharmacy Practitioner of the Year Award. She is also a member of the American Society of Health System Pharmacists, the UGA College of Pharmacy Alumni Association, the Augusta Area Pharmaceutical Association, and the Georgia Public Health Association.
