Norman named interim pharmacy director at GRHealth

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Christy M. Norman, has been named interim Director of Pharmacy at Georgia Regents Health System.

Christy Norman (2)Norman, who joined GRHealth in 2008, had been serving as pharmacy manager for clinical services since July 2010. She is also Medication Safety Officer and coordinates Therapeutic Policy and Formulary Management for the health system.

She earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Georgia, a master’s degree in Health-System Pharmacy Administration from The Ohio State University, and completed a two-year residency at The Ohio State’s Wexford Medical Center.

Norman is a member of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy, the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists and the Georgia Society of Health System Pharmacists, where she serves on the Education Committee and earned the Outstanding Health-System Pharmacy Newsletter Award in 2012. She is co-author of a chapter on Pharmacy Operations in the first and second editions of the textbook “Pharmacy Management, Leadership, Marketing and Finance,” and serves on the Pharmacy Council of the University HealthSystem Consortium.

Norman was recently appointed to a three-year term on the Pharmacy Distribution and Analytics Advisory Group for Novation, an organization that develops and manages competitive contracts with more than 600 health care suppliers for its 65,000 hospital members, including Georgia Regents Medical Center.
